Technidrive to showcase quarrying technologies at Hillhead 2026

Technidrive, a leading provider of industrial drive and motor technologies, will attend Hillhead 2026 at Hillhead Quarry, Buxton, UK from June 23 to 25, 2026, joining WEG at stand PB24. Visitors to the stand will be able to learn more about Technidrive’s technologies for the quarrying and recycling sectors, including its innovative jaw crusher unblock system and advanced Drum Drive solution.

Taking place at Hillhead Quarry in Buxton, Derbyshire, Hillhead is the UK’s largest exhibition for the quarrying, construction and recycling industries. Taking place every two years in a live limestone quarry environment, the show brings together 20,000 visitors and more than 600 exhibitors from across the sector.

The event features live demonstrations, with equipment operating under real working conditions. With all major OEMs already confirmed for 2026, this edition of Hillhead is expected to be the largest in the show’s history.

Technidrive will showcase a video demonstration of its jaw crusher unblock system, developed to improve both safety and efficiency in crushing operations. Traditionally, unblocking a jaw crusher can involve dangerous manual intervention using rock breakers or hammers. Technidrive’s automated system eliminates this process using intelligent variable speed drive technology to safely clear blockages while reducing strain on mechanical components.

The system can reduce crusher downtime from several hours to just minutes while significantly improving operator safety. Since developing the technology in 2016, Technidrive has installed over 80 crusher unblock systems worldwide for quarry operators and OEMs.

Visitors can also learn more about Technidrive’s Drum Drive for conveyors and feeders in quarrying and recycling applications. The Drum Drive is designed to support electrification and reduce total cost of ownership. It integrates the motor and gearbox directly inside the conveyor drum to minimise maintenance requirements while improving efficiency. The drive is compatible with WEG motors and supports operators looking to lower energy consumption and emissions while maintaining reliability in harsh environments.

“Hillhead is one of the most important events in the quarrying and recycling calendar, making it the ideal platform to demonstrate how our drive technologies can improve safety, efficiency and sustainability for operators,” said David Strain, technical director at Technidrive. “Our crusher unblock system and Drum Drive range both address key challenges facing the industry, from reducing downtime to supporting electrification and lower energy consumption.”

WEG will also be displaying several of its technologies at the stand, available for supply through Technidrive. This includes the compact W80 AXgen axial flux motor and the W22 Prime high-efficiency induction motor. The technologies help operators improve energy efficiency, reduce machine footprint and maintain reliable performance in harsh operating environments.

Attendees at Hillhead 2026 can meet the Technidrive team at stand PB24 throughout the show to discuss how its drive technologies and automation solutions can help quarrying and recycling operators improve safety, efficiency and sustainability in demanding applications.
