Technical PR firm eyes growth following award shortlist

Stone Junction shortlisted for four CIPR PRide awards, including inaugural Environmental Campaign category

Stafford-based technical PR agency Stone Junction has been shortlisted in four categories in 2023’s CIPR PRide Midlands awards: Corporate and Business Communications Campaign, Environmental Campaign, Best Long-Term Campaign and PR Consultancy of the Year. The firm hopes to take home the PR Consultancy of the Year award, which it has held for four out of the last five years. Furthermore, it hopes to grow its already impressive roster of cleantech clients by winning the Environmental Campaign award, which is a new category this year.

Stone Junction’s shortlisted Environmental Campaign, Driving sustainability and efficiency, sees the firm recognised for its work with global engineering company WEG. The campaign aimed to communicate a significant EU regulatory change for electric motor efficiency, which it did successfully having secured an impressive 205 pieces of trade press coverage in just six months. Additionally, the team’s efforts resulted in a substantial growth of 2,601 new followers on WEG’s LinkedIn page, engaging a wider audience on environmental issues.

“Having built a portfolio of science, technology, engineering and manufacturing (STEM) clients over the last decade, we want to continue strengthening our presence in the CleanTech sector, to build awareness of the important issues facing society,” said Richard Stone, founder and managing director of Stone Junction. “Being shortlisted for the best Environmental Campaign is an important step in this journey.”

In the Corporate and Business Communications category, Stone Junction’s campaign, An authoritative technical voice, demonstrated how the PR firm positioned its client Intertronics as a leading adhesives specialist. The campaign generated 270 pieces of trade media coverage, resulting in a seven per cent increase in website visitors and a notable 20 per cent increase in referral traffic, showcasing the effectiveness of its targeted approach.

The agency’s other shortlisted award’s include Sandvik Coromant’s communications pillar in the Best Long-Term Campaign category and a nod for Stone Junction itself in the PR Consultancy of the Year category.
