Zygo™, a business unit of AMETEK®, Inc. (NYSE: AME), is excited to announce its participation at the prestigious LASER World of PHOTONICS 2025 event, taking place from June 24–27 in Munich, Germany. Visitors can find Zygo at Booth A3.411, where the company will highlight its latest advancements in optical metrology and interferometry technologies, essential for cutting-edge applications in precision optics, and advanced industrial engineering.
On display will be Zygo’s flagship NexView™ NX2 optical profiler, an advanced non-contact 3D optical measurement system delivering exceptional accuracy and precision. Designed for the most demanding surface metrology tasks, the NX2 measures roughness, topography, and film thickness across a wide range of materials and geometries without the need for sample preparation. With its ability to measure super-polished optical surfaces with sub-Angstrom roughness and steep machined angles up to 85 degrees, the NX2 stands at the forefront of optical profiling technologies.
Michael Schmidt, Senior Product Development Manager at Zygo says, “The NexView NX2 optical profiler exemplifies Zygo’s commitment to delivering high-performance metrology solutions. It offers fast, precise measurements with industry-leading vertical resolution down to sub-nanometer levels. With patented Coherence Scanning Interferometry (CSI) technology and a broad magnification range, the NX2 can handle surfaces ranging from highly reflective optics to complex textured materials. The NX2 is designed to tackle the most challenging metrology tasks with unmatched precision and efficiency.”
Also featured on the booth will be Zygo’s recently launched Qualifire™ laser interferometer, engineered for the most demanding metrology applications across industries such as photonics, semiconductor, defense, space imaging, and advanced consumer electronics.
Erin McDonnell, Product Manager for Laser Interferometers at Zygo, comments, “The Qualifire introduces new levels of precision and portability to laser interferometry. Its improved ergonomics and lightweight design (approximately 45 lbs) make it ideal for environments where flexibility and high performance are critical. The system also features an integrated Phase Measuring Receptacle (PMR), improving mechanical stability and eliminating the need for frequent recalibrations, making it a truly robust, reliable, and user-friendly instrument.”
Zygo’s new Smart Accessories for Qualifire will also be on display, enabling Smart Setup features. Smart Setup automatically sets the instrument lateral resolution based on the accessory installed and, for Smart Transmission Spheres, the radius of curvature of the part. Then, an on-board factory calibrated system error map is automatically fitted and subtracted from measured data, enabling the best metrology on the market with a reduced setup time.
Zygo invites attendees of LASER World of PHOTONICS 2025 to visit Booth A3.411 to explore how its world-class metrology solutions can solve even the most complex manufacturing challenges.
