~EMS to exhibit new FAULHABER products at Smart Manufacturing Week~
Specialist drive system supplier and FAULHABER distributor Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS) is exhibiting at Smart Manufacturing Week at the NEC in Birmingham from June 4 to 5, 2025. At stand D166, EMS will showcase a range of advanced micromotors and motion solutions, including the new FAULHABER GXR and SXR motor families and planetary gearheads with 22GPT and 32GPT HT.
Smart Manufacturing Week is the UK’s largest manufacturing and engineering trade show. Attracting over 13,500 attendees and 450 exhibitors, the show brings together individuals from across the product lifecycle to showcase how their latest developments in hardware and software solutions help tackle industry challenges.
In today’s manufacturing and engineering environments, machines face greater demand. Faster production speeds, tighter tolerances and complex motion profiles mean that components must withstand higher forces and operate reliably over longer periods.
The new FAULHABER high torque planetary gearheads are designed to meet these challenges. Both gearheads are housed in durable stainless steel and offer peak torques of up to 14 newton metres (Nm) for the 22GPT HT and 18Nm for the 32GPT HT. This enables them to handle the most demanding torque performance requirements — even during sudden stops or unexpected load changes — across a temperature range of minus 30 to 120 degrees.
These new gearheads combine durability, performance and precise motion control, making them an ideal solution for advanced industrial automation applications, such as inspection robots and electric grippers.
Complementing the gearheads, FAULHABER has also introduced the new GXR motor family, featuring a 16 millimetre (mm) diameter brushed motor with copper-graphite commutation. With a compact design, voltage options from 4.5 to 20 and the capability to customise the model for high temperatures, vacuums and extended lifetime needs, the GXR range is designed to address the growing need for reliable, space-efficient motors in demanding applications.
Additionally, FAULHABER has expanded the SXR motor range by adding a new 16mm sized model. This new addition retains the high-precision and power-to-volume ratio that the SXR motors are known for, offering improved thermal management and higher continuous torque. This makes the new model well-suited to applications requiring sustained performance in compact spaces, such as portable devices or high-duty cycle automation.
“Smart Manufacturing Week brings together the people, products and solutions working to tackle the biggest challenges in manufacturing and engineering,” explains Dave Walsha, director of sales and marketing at EMS.
“The latest additions to the FAULHABER range respond directly to those challenges. From delivering consistent performance in harsh conditions to enabling high-precision motion control in compact spaces, the new gearheads and motor families are engineered for modern manufacturing demands. As the sole UK and Ireland distributor of FAULHABER products, we look forward to showcasing how these technologies help engineers overcome the most pressing design and performance barriers.”
