RiConnect Inc., a provider of cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS), has added Tiger Lifting UK Limited to its global network of distributors.
RiConnect is dedicated to simplifying and digitalising the processes around compliance and traceability for equipment management. It has pioneered utilisation of radio frequency identification (RFID) chips, allowing end users of lifting and other equipment to keep up with pre-use checks and unique identification numbers. By moving to paperless systems, companies can improve the accuracy of maintenance, safety checks, incident reports, and regulatory compliance, while ensuring seamless information sharing. The suite of solutions includes Digital Product Passports (DPPs), as industry continues to adapt to the European Union’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
Tiger Lifting, which will supply RiConnect’s full SaaS offering, is a manufacturer of manual hoists, pneumatic hoists, clamps, and winches. Its headquarters and manufacturing facility are in Taiwan, but it has premises in the UK, North America, and Singapore, in addition to a sales office in China. Another site is likely to be announced in the coming months. Globally, Tiger employs over 100 people.
Hugh Todd, sales manager at Tiger Lifting, said: “We have been aware of RiConnect for a few years, and we are one of the first global manufacturers to use the platform. RiConnect has grown massively over this time, and we are really excited to be part of that journey. We aim to set the highest standards in manufacturing, service, product reliability, and safety, while providing industry-leading value to our customers and supply chain partners. Onboarding RiConnect’s technology aligns with those strategies; it represents the best digital package on the market.”
RFID equipped
Tiger Lifting products are now equipped with RFID chips, which are fully compatible with RiConnect’s Compliance Management System. The partnership aligns with a business model that emphasises building a strong network of regional RiConnect agents, which allows it to cultivate an ecosystem where partners can thrive. This strategy ensures localised support and expertise, allowing RiConnect to expand globally, while maintaining a tailored approach in each market, where end customers include health, safety, and environment departments in large companies.
Todd said: “We know that RFID technology has been around for a while, but the features and benefits that RiConnect can offer our customer base made it an easy decision for us to explore this avenue of opportunity. We are seeing more and more demand for DPPs, which is why our whole range now comes with digital functionality. Our customers are driving demand and, with ESPR looming large, we are ahead of the curve.”
Tiger Lifting is the latest company to embrace RiConnect’s Compliance, Traceability, Status, Net Zero (CTSN) concept, which represent the established cornerstones of a company that is simplifying and digitalising the processes around compliance and traceability for equipment management. Together they emphasise RiConnect’s functionality in managing not only asset compliance, but also regulatory and certification requirements, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
Todd added: “RiConnect’s core values are very similar to ours. In an industry where non-compliant products can easily enter the market from importers, it is vital that end users know that the products they are using comply to standards. Our customers can now access compete historical information, real-time data, and achieve Net Zero goals.”
See Tiger Lifting UK at this year’s LiftEx, which takes place 18-19 November at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool. RiConnect will be the Headline Sponsor at the next three LiftEx shows.
