Verlinde gets closer to its partners in Southeast Asia Pacific with the opening of an office in Singapore

Verlinde, France’s leading manufacturer and exporter of lifting equipment, continues to implement its strategic vision to consolidate its development. Led by the arrival of its new Managing Director, Pierre Eluard in March 2024, a new dynamic impulse is currently ongoing at Verlinde.

Previously Deputy Managing Director and Sales Director for South-East Asia Pacific region for the company, Mr. Eluard spent the last three years revitalizing Verlinde’s commercial activity in the region.

As a central part of the expansion strategy which he is currently deploying at Verlinde, and as a continuation to his work in Asia, he has announced the appointment of a new Sales Manager, based in Singapore since mid-April 2024, to pursue and reinforce this action.

As Sales Manager for Southeast Asia Pacific, Arthur Sauchay’s objective is to develop Verlinde’s reputation as a Premium brand in the Asian market which is experiencing a robust growth trajectory, supported by strong infrastructural development, foreign investment, and growing demand in various industrial sectors.

Pierre Eluard explains: “The lifting market in the area follows these evolutions while being challenged by strong competition, especially the Chinese products which are omnipresent. Verlinde stands out with its value-added technical hoists, such as our ATEX range, which reflects our Premium positioning and know-how, mainly targeting the oil & gas and petrochemical industries. As an example, in sectors where customers are uncompromising about safety, ATEX certification, combined with European knowledge, is a guarantee of reliability. We also base our development on a common proficiency and expertise shared with our local partners who have been loyal to us for over 20 years.”

A collaboration illustrating Verlinde’s guideline “Next Level Partnership” principles.
Pierre Eluard continues: “In complement, we are actively working to improve our performance and customer relations, notably through the development of our online tools and our new representatives abroad. Our aim is to move forward and innovate, while remaining true to our values and constantly adapting to market developments.”

For an in-depth overview of the applied approach, Mr. Arthur SAUCHAY, Southeast Asia Sales Manager at Verlinde in Singapore, presents its position and missions.

• Tell us about your career before joining Verlinde
Graduated from a Master in Management and International Business and a Master in Business Administration, I have been recruited by Verlinde under a VIE (“International Corporate Volunteering”) contract in Singapore right after my graduation.
During my studies made in France and in Sydney, Australia, I did several internships in the automotive industry, specifically in vehicle registration solutions.
I am very happy to be hired by Verlinde with such ambitious targets. It is the start of – what I hope to be – a fruitful career in export sales.

• What is your mission?
As previously introduced, my aim is to develop Verlinde’s activities in the Southeast Asia & Pacific region by supporting our partners locally towards commercial, marketing and technical topics. In the past, export business relations were managed from France, and we identified the need to offer our partners a greater proximity, with the aim of being as close as possible to their needs. I act as a relay between the headquarter’s teams in France and partners’ ones in the Southeast Asia & Pacific region. My target is to promote Verlinde as a Premium brand to stand out from the competition mainly coming from Europe and China.

• Why did you choose Singapore?
Singapore’s strategic location enables us to expand rapidly and easily in the region, and to react quickly to support our partners.

• Where are your local partners based?
They are mainly located in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, etc., most of whom we have been working with for over 20 years. These partnerships enable us to offer tailored solutions and shared know-how to end-users in the region.

• What are your short and medium-term objectives?
First, it is to develop Verlinde’s Premium image and increase the brand’s visibility, as we have a certain potential of being better known and noticed in this region. Second, I intend to handle more and more projects and to benefit from growth opportunities offered by the Southeast Asia & Pacific region. In the end, my goal is to achieve our brand image and expansion strategy by promoting the quality of our technical equipments, products made with our European expertise that meets the most demanding standards.
