~ Paul Garthwaite made commercial director for Geobear’s UK division ~
Ground engineering contractor Geobear has appointed Paul Garthwaite as its new commercial director in the UK as part of a new growth strategy. The company aims to enhance its presence across the UK when it comes to solving the issue of ground subsidence and its impact on infrastructure. Following a series of notable projects with clients such as Network Rail, Geobear has appointed Garthwaite to strengthen these relationships. He will leverage his knowledge of sustainable infrastructure design and build to generate new business leads across various sectors.
Garthwaite secured his new role with Geobear through his experience working on large multi-discipline build projects. During his 12 years at Arcadis, he worked on infrastructural design and build projects across the UK, delivering sustainable remodels of transport hubs including King’s Cross Station, before moving into high-level strategic management for the company.
By appointing Garthwaite, Geobear has gained new business qualities which only enrich its repertoire. His expertise in large-scale project delivery and account management will grow its list of UK-based clients — focusing on the infrastructure and commercial sectors, such as railway networks and aviation, bringing in the growth that Geobear seeks. Additionally, he will implement further staff training to bolster the quality of project delivery.

Garthwaite succeeds Richard Holmes who has proceeded with a new senior role with Geobear. Holmes will now focus on the technical delivery of major projects handing over commercial and infrastructure sales to Garthwaite.
