Watlow to present at Petrochemical Congress Europe 2024

With the topic of decarbonisation more important than ever, industrial technology company Watlow will attend PRC Europe 2024 at the Van der Valk Hotel Schiphol, in Amsterdam. The congress will take place from 13-15 May, where Watlow will discuss the potential of thermal electric management systems in hydrogen production.

For the eighth year, PRC Europe gathers representatives of oil companies, EPC contractors, refineries and petrochemical plants, chemical companies, licensors, service providers and equipment manufacturers to discuss the challenges and solutions surrounding this year’s theme of decarbonisation and defossilisation.

At the show, Watlow, a designer and manufacturer of electric heaters, temperature and power controls, control panels, sensors and integrated thermal solutions, will take to the stage to discuss the potential of electrical thermal systems within the topic of decarbonisation. Hammad Chowdhury, Director of Global Sales of the Energy and Environmental Technologies Business Unit at Watlow, will explore the potential of thermal electric management systems in hydrogen production.

Founded in 1922, Watlow has been solving the most challenging and essential thermal problems for over a century. The company breaks down the barriers to energy transition to provide clean, efficient and reliable ways to electrify processes traditionally heated with fossil fuels.

“Switching from fossil fuel burning to electric is one of the surest ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” said Chowdhury. “Our electric thermal solution experience enables us to develop environmentally friendly thermal solutions that help our customers to reduce nitrogen and carbon emissions while improving fuel economy. This in turn enables safe and reliable power generation, the capture of greenhouse gases, and ultimately, eliminates the need for CO2 emitting gas fired systems.

“Besides reducing reliance on fossil fuels, other key features of electric heaters include less thermal lag, more uniform distribution of heat and smaller overall footprint,” continued Chowdhury. “Specifically, systems such as our POWERSAFE™ integrated medium voltage control and heating solution provide a safe, reliable and clean replacement for fossil fuel alternatives.

“Decarbonisation and electrification go hand in hand, and we look forward to sharing how innovative thermal solutions and electric heaters can drive this forward.”

Hammad Chowdhury’s speaker slot will take place May 13, 16.00 – 16.20 CET European time. For more information about Watlow’s thermal solutions, visit www.watlow.com
