Along with this remarkable recognition, it is delighted to announce its inclusion in the prestigious S&P Global 2024 Sustainability Yearbook among more than 9,400 global enterprises, with only a selection rate of 8%, emerging as a standout ESG performer.
Notably, Advantech has secured a position among the Top 5% companies in the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics sectors and earned the Silver award. This recognition reflects Advantech’s remarkable progress and improvement within the industry. The company’s commitment to advancing the Industrial Internet of Things and its dedication to environmental sustainability aligns seamlessly with its vision, earning commendation for outstanding achievements.
The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook stands out as a prominent international publication focusing on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters. It assesses the sustainable development practices of more than 9,400 large-scale companies across various industries worldwide. The evaluation is based on three key dimensions: environment, society, and governance. Among these companies, 759 are recognized as leaders, with rankings ranging from Top 1%, Top 5%, Top 10%, Sustainability Yearbook Members and the Industry Mover award, reflecting their performance within their respective industries. Advantech has notably distinguished itself among these global benchmark companies, securing a position in the Top 5% category. This accomplishment establishes Advantech as a rising star among the selected Taiwanese companies in the assessment.
Mr. Eric Chen, President of General Management at Advantech, emphasized that in recent years, the company has been unwavering in its commitment to the ESG vision of “Enabling an Intelligent Planet.” Advantech not only demonstrated significant accomplishments in governance, economics, and social aspects but also secured top performance in eight key sustainability evaluations. - 2040 RE100: Foster global collaborations to collectively establish renewable energy sources, with the goal of achieving 100% renewable energy usage across all Advantech global operating locations by 2040.
- Introduce “Carbon Pricing”: Secured the first carbon footprint certification (ISO 14067) for products in 2023 and plans to integrate carbon costs into business management practices by 2024.
- Develop “Sustainable Intelligence Solutions”: Engage with industry chain partners to develop sustainable smart solutions, including iEMS, smart healthcare, smart factory, and smart transportation.
- Promote co-creation value chains in AIoT between industry, and academia: Collaborate with industry, government, academia, and research sectors to actively support youth employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
